Even the most talented
scholastic golfers often wind up as red-shirted freshmen. Rather than
languishing outside the ropes for a year, why not immerse yourself
in a game-improvement program and hit the fairway as an impact collegiate
freshman the following season?
The Gap Year Program at the Champions Golf Academy is designed for players to
prepare both academically and from a golf perspective for college. The Gap Year
Program will consist of nine months of intense training that focuses on golf
instruction, sports psychology, and physical fitness.
The program gives individuals between the ages of 17 and 21 one extra year to train and improve their golf game in order to compete on the collegiate level without losing a year of eligibility. Housing will be provided by the Champions Golf Academy and the student will be able to take college classes from a local university, as long as less than 12 hours are taken per semester, or the player can participate in the Gap Year Program on a full-time basis.
